Detane's God’s Bleed Album Review “The Fight For Hip Hop Continues”

Detane recently released an album entitled “God’s Bleed.”  It’s been a long time coming, but it has arrived and is knocking down doors. After spending some time with the album we are ready to give you a brief overview.

We start by saying it is a very substantial album. One of the few remaining albums that you can almost play all the way through without skipping tracks.  His voice, cadences, beat choice, & song topic quickly solidify him as a professional. Through the sound quality you can definitely tell he has paid his dues and then some. At times the sounds and beats sound a little dated, which actually gives a nostalgic vibe of late ’90’s hip hop.  Those few songs mixed with the fresh vibe of the others come together to collectively create an experience you should definitely check out.

The “angels & demons” theme of the album give you a enjoyable paradox to explore.  He has everything form street, socially conscious, politically fueled, to B-Boy inspired songs.  The entire album was produced by Domingo of Deranged Music who has also made hits for high caliber artists like Big Pun amongst others.  We were amazed to find that Detane did the album cover art himself and it portrays the sound of the album to a tee. It’s refreshing to see young artist do things independently.

There are many heavy hitting features on the album including but not limited to Chino XL, Glasses Malone, & Ras Kass. The release of the single “Gunz and Angels” ft Killah Priest of Wu-Tang received great feedback.  With strong follow ups like “Get Serious” the album is creating a buzz in the Hip Hop community. Both songs have great visual videos that can be found by clicking Link to Video. "Gunz & Angels" Detane ft Killa Priest and Link to Video. "Get Serious" by Detane
