VH1 is launching a new show in the winter of 2016. A spin off "Love & Hip Hop" their show will feature just Stevie J & Joseline. It will document and follow them through their new relationship and hustle in Hollywood. Stay tuned for all the love, music, hustle, and drama. Dear fellow ASCAP members, Back in August, we shared the news that ASCAP and BMI had joined forces to challenge the US Department of Justice’s (DOJ) decision on 100% licensing and modernize the outdated consent decree system.  Yesterday, we celebrated an important victory in this joint strategy. As you may have heard, federal Judge Louis L. Stanton, who oversees BMI’s rate court, issued an order rejecting the DOJ’s recent interpretation of the BMI consent decree, and concluded that BMI is free to engage in the fractional licensing of musical works. As our CEO Beth Matthews said in ASCAP’s public statement on the ruling, this is terrific news for our community of songwriters, composers and music publishers. I know many of you are wondering what this means for ASCAP. ASCAP and BMI Join Forces to Fight the Department of Justice's Interpretation of Their Consent Decrees BMI to Challenge 100% Licensing in Federal Court NEW YORK – (August 4, 2016)  ASCAP and BMI, the country’s two leading performing rights organizations (PROs) collectively representing more than one million songwriters, composers and music publishers, have joined forces to fight the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) recent interpretation of their respective consent decrees and to push for consent decree reform.  United in their belief that the DOJ’s decision to mandate 100% licensing will cause unnecessary chaos in the marketplace and place unfair financial burdens and creative constraints on songwriters and composers, the two organizations are pursuing a joint campaign: BMI through litigation and ASCAP through legislative reform.
